WELCOME!
I’m Dada. This is Claire Bear. We’re just a dad-daughter team trying to be healthy in a world not making it easy for us. We’re nowhere close to perfect, but we’re always striving to be better and having a blast while trying. We’ve created this site together as a chronicle of our journey, and as a way to preserve the lessons we learn along the way. Read the full story here.
MISSION:
To inspire other families to go on a similar journey by sharing our experiences and showing just how much fun it can be.
SOME OF WHAT YOU’LL FIND HERE:
- Chronicles of our journey broken down my Claire’s age (i.e. 0-1, 1-2, and so on) so that you can find stuff relevant to your kiddo’s age
- Summarized lessons learned through research (link to research category) and experience (link to claire’s chronicles category)
- Claire’s favorite recipes
- Summarized relevant research to further our understanding of health for kids
- Relatable, and humorous, stories about trying to feed your kids
- A forum for dinner table discussions amongst parents
HOW TO NAVIGATE THIS SITE:
I’d like to include some basic instructions on how to get the most out of the site. But I don’t want to spend a whole bunch of time on this since the main menu is still a work in progress.
HOW TO CONNECT:
Subscribe and get my free ebook (can I come up with something here?? 15 tips or something??)
Join the community on Facebook
Join in on Dinner Table discussions (is this something that is possible to create in wordpress. also, maybe I put “Coming soon” next to anywhere on here that I mention dinner table because I can’t really have a discussion forum without any followers. And it will look crappy if I have these discussion topics that nobody is responding to)
ONE LAST THING… WHY IS IT CALLED CLAIRE’S CUPBOARD?
Well… because clever alliteration, of course. But really, the word “cupboard” usually brings food to mind. But food usually isn’t the only thing that fills the cabinet (remember this classic??). This mental image of a cupboard nicely analogizes to my theory that… while nutritious food plays an integral role in health and happiness, it’s just one piece of the puzzle.
